This is my first time joining the Soap Challenge Club, the topic of May is 'mini dessert soaps
Here are my works, they arechocolate cookies
, peppermint ice cream
, rose omber cake
and pieces of butter cake
The humidity in Taiwan is always high, I use only CP soaps for this project because the difficulties of preserving MP soaps and whipped soaps. Preparation:
Make a batch of CP soap, any recipe will do, here is mine: 25% coconut oil, 25% palm oil, 45% olive oil and 5% beewax. Replace the water with milk and mix the oils and lye solution thoroughly to trace and seperate into three pots.
- Pour the original color soap into a 4inch ruond mold to make the cake base.
- Add some TiO2 to the second pot and pour into a plastic bag to make the white clay-soap.
- Add some β-Carotene to the last pot and pour into a square mold to make another cake base.
Set aside for at least 24H. After that, press and kneed the white clay soap hardly inside the plastic bag to soften it. Chocolate Cookie (with milk and cocoa powder)
Grab some clay-soap from the plastic bag and kneed in a lot of cocoa powder to get chocolate color. Bury some small white balls of soap in and use the lofah and tooth pick to make the surface texture and cracks. Plenty of corn starchs are used while shapeing, spread some water on the final product to erase them.
Peppermint Ice Cream
Grab some clay-soap and kneed in green mica. Take a spoon and tooth pick to make the half round shape and surface texture of ice cream. Add some little spots with the left cookie soap to be chocolate. Make a small amount of darker green soap and inprint the veins of real leaf on that to be decoration.
Rose Omber Cake
Unmold the round cake base soap and make a new batch of soap with the same recipe, but replace the water with milk to prevent failure of losing temperature from long time operation. Dye with pink mica and pipe the roses on the top of the cake base. Slice a lot of very thin soap from any soap in hand and curve into small rolls. Line the rolls around the cake and tie a beautiful ribbon on them for decoration. Finally, fill the gap of flowers with red jojoba beads.
Pieces of butter cake
Unmold the yellow soap and cut into 4 small pieces. Pipe the original color of soap on the top and wait for a while to be solid. Make some very thin slice from the swirl soap in hand and fix on the top of the buttercream.
